Back in June 2016, Electronic Arts announced a new indie program called EA Originals. This program would give indie developers a chance to show off their games while also getting some help publishing the game from EA. On March 23, 2018, Hazelight Studios released their story-driven co-op game A Way Out. Critics praised it for its unique co-op experience as well as its excellent characters and well-written story.
